Ignitis Polska expands energy sales in the public procurement sector

Ignitis Polska is rapidly expanding its presence in the public procurement sector. Since October 2025, the company has won over 30 tenders with a total revenue value of nearly 400 mln PLN. The contracts cover the supply of over 630 GWh of electricity to public institutions and entities throughout Poland.

The company entered this segment on a pilot basis last fall and within the first few months, it secured 11 contracts worth nearly 140 million PLN and totaling over 200 GWh. In 2026, in less than half a year, another 23 tenders were awarded, worth 250 million PLN and totaling nearly 440 GWh. The contracts cover energy supplies for the years 2026–2029.

“Entering the public procurement sector was an important step for us in expanding our operations in Poland. The results of the pilot program show that we can effectively scale our operations and be a viable alternative to the largest energy suppliers,” says Maciej Kowalski, CEO of Ignitis Polska.

The successful bids involve large purchasing groups that consolidate the demand of up to several hundred entities - ranging from local governments and municipal enterprises to hospitals, cultural centers, libraries, and museums.

“Today, we’re participating in the largest tenders requiring financial guarantees and bid bonds, covering as many as several thousand PPEs, as in the case of the Łódź Purchasing Group tender. Our results confirm that we have the resources and experience needed to efficiently serve public institutions on a large scale,” adds Artur Dembny, board member and CCO of Ignitis Polska.

The public procurement market in the electricity sector encompasses approximately 13,500 institutions. Ignitis Polska plans to continue expanding in this segment, emphasizing that these results were achieved even before the peak of the sales season, which falls in the third and fourth quarters of the year.
