Ignitis Group awarded for launching the Silesia II wind farm

On December 10, 2025, during the Polish Business Awards 2025 gala, Polish and Lithuanian companies that had achieved the most in the development of mutual economic relations in the past year were honored. The Ignitis Renewables team was awarded for its commitment to the development of the renewable energy sector in Poland. The launch of the 137 MW Silesia II wind farm at the end of August contributed to this success.

The award ceremony took place at the Polish Embassy in Vilnius and was hosted by Grzegorz Poznański, Poland's chargé d'affaires in Lithuania. Among the guests were Władysław Kondratowicz, Lithuanian Minister of the Interior, Janusz Kizieniewicz, Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Finance, Waldemar Urban, Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation, Roderikas Žiobakas, Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Daniel Naumovas, Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Health, as well as numerous representatives of embassies accredited in the Republic of Lithuania, members of the Lithuanian Seimas, and representatives of Polish and Lithuanian companies operating in both markets.

The Ignitis Group was represented by Darius Maikstenas, CEO of Ignitis Group, Frank Oomen, CEO of Ignitis Renewables, Maciej Kowalski, CEO of Ignitis Polska and Ignitis Renewables Polska, and Jacek Wojerz, COO of Ignitis Renewables Polska. The Ignitis team was recognized for its commitment to the development of the renewable energy sector in Poland, in particular for the launch of the Silesia II wind farm, located in the Opole Province. Together with the Silesia I wind farm completed a year earlier, this project is currently one of the largest wind farms in Poland, significantly contributing to increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the Polish energy mix.

During the ceremony, statuettes were also presented to representatives of Polska Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych SA, Etanetas UAB, and Advanced Protection Systems SA. A special award was given to the Polish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce. In connection with the 10th anniversary of the Chamber's existence, its significant contribution to creating a favorable climate for economic relations between Poland and Lithuania, supporting the dynamic development of trade between the two countries and the inflow of investments, as well as supporting business cooperation between Polish and Lithuanian companies, was recognized.
